National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a 30-day writing challenge in which most people  try to write a novel within a month. Some friends invited me to participate, but I was more interested in using the challenge to develop a comic strip writing practice. Through the month, I spat out quick comics, generally waking up at 5 A.M. and using the few hours before breakfast to draw and write. The exercise helped me understand how comics writing migth work for me. I worked weekdays only and generally alternated between one day of ideation and thumbnailing and one day of inking.
